Labor Day getawayDo you like fishing? Enjoy spending time by the lake? The Alabama Bass Trail is the place to be! There’s no better way to kick off September than by spending the long Labor Day weekend out by the lake. Schedule time with friends and family on one of the Alabama Bass Trail’s many lakes. Let us help you plan your long weekend getaway!

Pick a Lake

Whether you want to stay close to home or get in the car for a road trip, there is a lake along the ABT  that will become your oasis. By first heading to the Alabama Bass Trail website, you will be able to find the perfect spot to call home for the weekend. Decide on which lake to enjoy by learning what fish you’re likely catch, what lodging is nearby, where you can stop for food throughout the day, and what attractions are nearby.

Invite Friends/Family

Although sometimes having a weekend on your own is preferred, invite your friends and family to enjoy this holiday weekend together. The more the merrier!

Find Accommodations

Once you know where you’re headed and who you’re going with, choose where you want to stay. All the lakes on the ABT have hotels, campgrounds and RV parks close by, making it easy to spend as much time on the water as you desire.

Activity List

We know fishing will be at the top of your activity list, but there are also plenty of recreation and attraction opportunities near the lakes. You may also be interested in participating in a guided fishing trip. Most lakes on the ABT have fishing guide services available to book, allowing you to see the lake like never before and learn the ins and outs of angling on that particular body of water.

Packing

Packing may be one of the most important parts of your trip. Planning and packing for a trip can be stressful, so plan ahead by creating a packing list to make the process easier. Remember to bring your fishing gear, sunscreen, appropriate clothing, and a smile!

With fall just around the corner, plan a trip now to enjoy the last bit of summer along the Alabama Bass Trail.
