Tourist: A person who is traveling or visiting a place for pleasure.

World Tourism Day is September 27, 2021, and we’ve got a great suggestion for a tourist experience: Visit any of the 13 lakes and rivers of the Alabama Bass Trail. Whether you’re from the area or not, being a tourist can be so much fun! The ABT lakes and surrounding areas have much to offer and plenty of opportunities for exploration.

Tourism is an important aspect of society and the development of the economy. Traveling the trail provides a way to support local businesses. After a relaxing morning of fishing, grab a table at a local restaurant for lunch. Choose a spot on the BBQ Trail and don’t forget to bring home some secret sauce. Swing by the local tackle and bait shops to grab your fishing necessities and maybe even pick up a few tips from the locals. Dive a little deeper into the experience by hiring a fishing guide to learn about the lake, receive fishing advice, and tour around to find all the best spots!

If you’re interested in spending a couple days or more by the lake, book accommodations in a hotel, resort, or RV and camping park. Spending the night may allow time to enjoy the attractions in the area. Whether seeking outdoor or indoor experiences, you’re sure to find something that will pique your interest, from parks and museums to theaters and more!

Celebrate World Tourism Day and support the local businesses while traveling along the Alabama Bass Trail. Explore away!
