With the warm weather of spring, fishing season is well upon us in Alabama! We are all excited to spend more days out on the water, but first, let us share a few tips regarding fishing in warmer temperatures.

Choosing the Right Time

Fish are more active in the early morning or late evening, when the water is cooler. This means you may need to consider waking up early or making time for an evening fishing trip.

Fish in Deeper Water

As the water warms up, fish will seek cooler, deeper water. Look for areas with deep drop-offs or submerged structures such as sunken trees or rocks.

Stay Cool

One of the most important things to keep in mind is staying comfortable and cool when fishing in warmer weather. Wear light clothing and bring plenty of sunscreen, water and snacks to keep yourself hydrated and energized.

Be Patient

Fishing in warmer weather can be frustrating during times when fish may not be as eager to bite. Don’t give up! Keep trying different techniques and locations until you find what works.

No matter where you fish along the Alabama Bass Trail,  fishing in warmer weather is a great way to enjoy the outdoors!
