August is Fishing Month, which is something to celebrate! We think the best place to celebrate is along the Alabama Bass Trail. With 13 lakes, thousands of miles of shoreline, and thousands of acres of water – not to mention an excellent reputation and numerous stories told – the trail presents ideal fishing opportunities to enjoy Fishing Month fully.

The ABT keeps veteran anglers coming back and also easily hooks new anglers. From the north to the south of Alabama, the 13 lakes provide easy access and variety for all. You will find open water, protected cover, peace and quiet, and plenty of beautiful adventures. With so many lakes, rivers, dams and deltas to choose from, you will find your spot and never want to leave.

Not sure where or how to start? There’s no right or wrong way to go about it. Hit multiple lakes over one weekend, try new lakes every other weekend, or take a weeklong trip and hop from lake to lake. Begin with somewhere familiar and expand to new places from there. Or jump right into a non-stop exploration of recent locations. All that matters is that you have fun wherever you are, which is guaranteed when you drop a line at any of the sites along the trail.

Whether you’re new to the Alabama Bass Trail or a lifelong enthusiast, you’ll leave with great stories and memories, and some big fish, too. Celebrate Fishing Month by planning your next angling trip now!
