The Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, located in the southwestern part of Alabama, stretches down to the waters of Mobile Bay. Twisting and winding through acres of swamps and marshlands, it’s one of Alabama’s “10 Natural Wonders.” However, its diverse ecosystem is not the only wonder the delta has to offer. Spectacular sunsets that sink deep into Mobile Bay are a scene you will want to add to your 2020 list of things to experience.
With colors so vivid it looks like a scene out of a magazine, the delta is known to leave people in awe when they capture a sunset moment here. Grab your gear and set course down the Bartram Canoe Trail to find campgrounds at the Historic Blakely State Park or 5 Rivers Delta Center. Both offer great views of the bay and calm waters for canoeing or kayaking. Of course, be sure to take a fishing pole to catch speckled trout during the winter months.
The delta also offers boat launches and marinas that have easy access to the water or piers from which to view the sunset. The Battleship Parkway Public Boat Ramp in Spanish Fort is a good choice for a perfect place to watch the nightly show.
It’s time to get out and explore Alabama’s sunsets on the delta!
