It’s hard to believe the year 2020 is almost here! We hope 2019 has been filled with fishing adventures that included pictures of story-worthy fish caught along the way.

Since we’re almost ready to turn the page in the calendar, it’s time to map out the new places you are going to fish in the upcoming months. Below are some suggestions to get the ideas flowing.

  1. Mobile-Tensaw River Delta.  This exciting body of water is filled with many species of fish. Nicknamed one of Alabama’s “10 Natural Wonders,” it’s no surprise to find it at the top of our list. This area of water has both freshwater and saltwater fish to catch, including bass, bream, speckled trout, redfish and even flounder.
  2. Lake Guntersville. Known for its BIG bass, Lake Guntersville is also home to gorgeous scenery and a state park that is hard to beat. The lake has been featured in Bassmaster magazine as one of the top 10 bass fishing lakes in the nation. We bet you can picture that prize-winning catch on the end of your line right now!
  3. Wheeler Lake. This lake is a popular spot to fish during every season. Many anglers enjoy reeling in largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, along with crappie, bluegill and catfish. What will you try to catch when you visit this lake?
  4. Alabama River. The Alabama River covers 17,000 acres and offers stunning views and even better fish. Known for its largemouth bass, this waterway provides excitement for anglers of all levels. Offering both fishing and commercial boating, everyone can enjoy their favorite pastime here.
  5. Lake Martin. The reputation of this lake is well deserved for summertime recreational boating activities. Add it to your list for a fun summer trip and squeeze in some night bass fishing amid its clear waters. But don’t skip the fantastic opportunity for wintertime bass fishing!
