Lake Eufaula

Known as the “Bass Fishing Capital of the World” in the 1960s and 1970s, Lake Eufaula is a prime spot to reel in some bass. Lake Eufaula, officially the Walter F. George Lake, is a 45,000-acre impoundment on the Chattahoochee River. The fertile waters are home to many tournaments, but the location also serves as a great spot to sit back and relax.

You can’t have a fishing trip without some bait. When you are in need of last-minute supplies, Marathon Gas and Tackle or a local Walmart will have what you need.

Choose from one of the boat launches or marinas to begin your day out on the water.

It’s a given that the fishing is terrific at Lake Eufaula. But the area is also home to many attractions, including Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge. Explore the various habitats that are home to more than 300 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, and many amphibians, reptiles and fish.

Meander through stores and shopping centers while you’re there. Or discover a new favorite at a local eatery.  Whether you’re in the mood for BBQ, Mexican, or some sweet Southern comfort food, you’ll find what you’re craving.

There’s a great deal of fun that awaits at Lake Eufaula, so book a hotel and make it a weekend (or longer) of adventures!
