Fall is just around the corner! We don’t know about you, but we are ready to wake up to a cool, crisp morning. We are ready to sit outside on our rocking chair looking out over the lake. And we are, most of all, ready to FISH.
Fall weather on the Alabama Bass Trail is hard to beat. As examples of that, we have mapped out the annual weather temperatures for some of the lakes below. Grab your fishing poles because FALL is on its way!
- Alabama River Traveling downstream from Montgomery, the fall weather on the Alabama River averages in the mid to upper 80s during the day, with mornings and evenings in the 50s and 60s. Wake up to an Alabama River sunrise and begin fishing for largemouth bass.
- Lake Eufaula The “Bass Fishing Capital of the World” can be warm during the fall days, reaching the mid to upper 80s. However, the mornings may dip to the low 50s, so be sure to pack a jacket for those early fishing trips to catch your trophy-winning spotted bass.
- Lake Guntersville Known as the “prime spot for bass,” Lake Guntersville enjoys a seasonal temperature in the mid 70s during the fall and can reach down to the low 50s in the early hours of the morning. Your rod and reel will connect you with a variety of fish in this lake: anything from largemouth bass and brim to bluegill, sun fish and more!
- Lake Jordan If your preference is temperatures in the mid 60s, then Lake Jordan is for you. Moderate days make this lake ideal for catching largemouth and spotted bass.
- Lay Lake Thirty minutes south of Birmingham, Lay Lake’s waters stay warm during the fall months. The air temperature dips into the low 60s in the mornings, but quickly rises to the 70s during the day. Catch bass, crappie or bream when you cast your line into this lake.
You may not be quite ready to build bonfires, but it’s fun to anticipate the cooler weather on its way. Gear up to hit the lake for many crisp and relaxing fall getaways.
