The holidays are here and the gift-giving season is in full swing. You are probably making your lists and checking them twice right now. In case you have an angler in your life, we have put together a list of gift ideas that will be sure to excite them!

  1. Cooler. Every angler needs to have the right gear stocked on the boat to have a successful fishing trip. A cooler to hold ice for drinks or fish is a great addition. Purchase a cooler at your local hardware, outdoor or grocery store, then stock it full of their favorite snacks and drinks to create a gift that they’ll truly appreciate.
  2. GPS. Once they hit the water, an angler wants to know where to go or where they have been before. Depending on your budget, you could give them a handheld GPS (great for all types of outings) or a complete GPS system to be installed in the boat. Not only is this a handy tool, it also provides peace of mind.
  3. Fishing pole. When asked how many fishing poles someone needs, the overall answer is: “You can never have too many.” We agree! From custom-made poles to a new rod or reel, any addition to an angler’s collection will put a smile on their face. If you want to add a little variety for the spin or bait fisherman – no matter their age, gender or level of experience – give them a fly-fishing pole to encourage them to try a new way to fish.
  4. Filled tackle box. We all know any successful fishing trip requires a visit to the local outdoors shop. Whether this is a necessity or preference, your angler will want to begin their trip with the right tools. Choose a new tackle box stocked with hooks, lures and fishing line. Throw in a couple snacks that will fill them up on those long fishing days. It’s sure to bring joy with each use.
