Pickwick Lake is between Wilson Dam in Florence, Alabama, and Pickwick Dam in Tennessee. Nearly 48,000 acres of water are home to many species of bass, most notably smallmouth bass. Pickwick has hosted many tournaments and has become a preferred destination for anglers.
The first thing to do before heading out on the lake is to choose a marina or boat launch that is right for you.
Next, ensure you have all the supplies you need for the day. On your way to the water, grab your bait and other last-minute gear at a local tackle shop.
After reeling in the final catch for the day, you’ll be hungry for a bite of your own. The variety of dining options around Pickwick Lake boasts delicious refueling opportunities. More than hungry? Order the Gigantor at the Rattlesnake Saloon for a chance at a FREE meal.
While in the area, check out at least one of the museums.
Plan ahead for lodging – or come back soon for a more extended stay – so you can experience many days of great fishing and other fun activities at Pickwick Lake.
