U.S. Space & Rocket Center – Spend a day out of this world! Explore the history of space exploration or get hands-on at the interactive exhibits. People of all generations can feel like an astronaut for the day or the week!
Birmingham Zoo – The zoo is home to approximately 950 animals from many continents, including many endangered species, nestled on 122 acres.
Huntsville Botanical Garden – This is a 112-acre oasis, open year-round that features the nation’s largest seasonal butterfly house and nature center. Lose yourself in the picturesque aquatic garden, nature trails or numerous specialty gardens.
McWane Science Center – Fun and learning never end at the McWane Center, a nonprofit, hands-on museum and IMAX® Dome Theater, in Birmingham. Four floors of interactive exhibits celebrate science and wonder.
Barber Vintage Motorsports Park – The collection at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum has more than 900 vintage and modern motorcycles as well as a collection of Lotus and other racecars. It is considered the largest collection in North American and possibly the world.
USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park – Explore the mighty WWII battleship USS ALABAMA, winner of nine battle stars, and the submarine USS DRUM, both National Historic Landmarks. The park’s aircraft pavilion is filled with more than 25 historic planes and military vehicles.
Point Mallard Park – This 750-acre park has camping, hiking trails, biking trails and a golf course. The Aquatic Center features a wave pool, Olympic-size diving pool, water slides and kiddie pools. The park also features a year-round ice-skating complex.
Montgomery Zoo – This 40-acre Zoological attraction is just 10 minutes from historic downtown Montgomery. The park features habitats from five continents with natural, barrier-free exhibits for more than 500 animals.
Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo – Wide pathways throughout the park offer close-up views of over 500 exotic animals including: lions, tigers, bears, primates, leopards, wolves and more! Visit the reptile house, petting zoo and aviary.
EarlyWorks Museum – Enjoy a unique, hands-on experience where visitors interact with history. A talking tree, 46-foot keel boat, talking clock, preschool learning center and Biscuit’s Backyard are just some of the interactive exhibits.
