Lake Eufaula

Lake Eufaula gained a reputation in the 1960s and ’70s as the “Bass Fishing Capital of the World,” and it’s still considered a prime spot to catch them.

The lake, officially the Walter F. George Lake, is a 45,000-acre impoundment on the Chattahoochee River.

Its fertile waters extend from Ft. Gaines, Georgia north to Phenix City, Alabama. Without much weed cover, Lake Eufaula gives the experienced angler a new challenge, as they search for lunkers amid deeper structures. While it is home to tournaments large and small each year, this lake is truly a centerpiece of the community and a recreational mecca of the region. Here, anglers can fish hard, play hard or just sit back and enjoy the view.

What you’ll catch
